A VCE™ clinical experience

  • Pre-session learning materials

    Prior to the consultation, students gain access to pre-session learning materials, served via platform integration with your learning management system and curriculum.

  • Live session patient consent

    At the start of the consultation the clinician is prompted to ensure the full awareness consent of the patient is guaranteed. The patient’s safety and wellbeing remains centred for the clinician.

  • Connecting medical devices

    The clinician connects smart glasses, cameras and other medical devices required for the consultation – for example, e-stethoscope, otoscope, dermatoscope and echo

  • The live session

    During the consultation VCE™ live streams from smart glasses and cameras. Data feeds from medical devices are layered in and combined with multi-person chat. Any number of students can participate.

  • Pause at any time

    Feeds can be paused at any time, ensuring the patient’s privacy and consent are respected. Students can continue to work together on the platform while video is paused.

  • Direct, live interaction

    Students can interact with the patient directly, from anywhere in the world. The patient really has a voice in a VCE™ session, meaning all students learn how to see and hear the patient differently.

  • Debrief

    The debrief allow student reflection and follow-ups to consolidate learning. It integrates transcription, clinical sign-off and curriculum, to support assessment and administration.
